Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson was the setting May 28, 2004, for the wedding of Cynthia L. Rigdon and Louis J. DesPres. Monsignor Edward Eftink performed the ceremony. Pianist was Jerry Ganiel; flutist was Jennifer Meirndorf; soloists were Christine Samuel, Moriah and Ben Watkins, nieces and nephew of the groom; Barbara Blattel, Andrea Seabaugh and Regina Herron, sisters of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Anna Mae Rigdon of Cape Girardeau, and the late Allen A. Rigdon. The groom is the son of Esther DesPres of Fenton, Mo., and the late Louis J. DesPres.
Attending the bride were her children, Angela and Kyla Weaver.
The groom's attendants were his children, Patrick and Beth DesPres.
Candlelighters were Chelsea Dye and Lauren Ressel, great-nieces of the bride. Chelsea is the daughter of Terry and Angie Dye of Jackson. Lauren is the daughter of Kirk and Gail Ressel of Carmel, Ind.
Linda Wilks attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the A.C. Brase Arena. Servers were Missy Clarkson and Alisha DesPres, nieces of the groom; Kelsey Ogden, cousin of the bride; and Natalie Herron, niece of the bride.
Mrs. DesPres is a certified registered nurse, and is employed in obstetrics at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
The groom is a nurse anesthetist with Anesthesia Associates of Cape Girardeau.
After a western Caribbean cruise the couple is residing in Jackson.
