Melody Ann Reed and Kenneth Ryan Wasson were united in marriage Dec. 29, 2001, at Schweitzer United Methodist Church in Springfield, Mo. The Rev. Bob Casady performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Cheryll Moll, and vocalists were Rachel Peacock and Barth Fraker of Springfield.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charley M. Reed and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Wasson, all of Springfield.

Hilary Peacock of Kansas City, Mo., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Micah Washam of Springfield and Stephanie House of Lebanon, Mo.

The groom chose Tom McCarty of Waco, Texas, as best man. Groomsmen were Matt Bowler of Lexington, Ky., and Barth Fraker. Ushers were Ross and Logan MacDonald of Poplar Bluff, Mo., cousins of the bride; Tyler O'Banion and Grant Bass of Springfield.

Flower girl was Haley Womack, daughter of Walt and Kristen Womack of Springfield and niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Bryant Hammerschmidt, son of Bob and Melinda Hammerschmidt of Springfield.

Lindsey Fender of Lakeland, Ga., cousin of the bride, attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Highland Springs Country Club in Springfield.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Dec. 28 at Mr. Yen's in Springfield.

Mrs. Wasson is completing a degree in education at Southwest Missouri State University. She is a student teacher at North Elementary School in Jackson, Mo.

The groom attended Southwest University. He is youth director at Centenary United Methodist Church.

The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
