MCCLURE, Ill. -- Rachel Lynn Prater and Joseph James Young were married Sept. 18, 2004, at Sedgewickville Lutheran Church in Sedgewickville, Mo. The Rev. Albert Nyland performed the ceremony. Pianist was Kristina Dullum of Cape Girardeau.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Sharon Prater of McClure, Ill. The groom is the son of Sheila Walters of O'Fallon, Mo., and the late Marvin Young.

Maid of honor was Suzanne Stevens of McClure, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Katie Prater of McClure, cousin of the bride; Krystal McLane of Oak Ridge; Tarina Zeilmann of St. Peters, Mo., sister of the groom; and Shayna Maevers of Sedgewickville.

Kenny Maevers of Sedgewickville was best man. Groomsmen were Rodney Bishop of Friedheim, Johnnie Palmer and Nelson Palmer of Sedgewickville; and Curtis Browning of Olive Branch, Ill., cousin of the bride. Ushers were Jerry Schlitt of Chaffee, Mo., and Johnny Ford of McClure.

Candlelighters were Kelsey Prater of Olive Branch, cousin of the bride, and Kimberly Maevers of Sedgewickville.

Flower girl was Brandy Prater, daughter of Randy and Sheila Prater of McClure and cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Seth Browning, son of Curtis and Crystal Browning and cousin of the bride.

Guest book attendants were Donna Palmer of Sedgewickville, cousin of the bride, and Sara Barnhart of McClure. Bubbles were handed out by Hannah Palmer, daughter of Johnnie and Donna Palmer.

The reception was held at the American Legion Hall in Jackson. Servers were Vista Browning of Olive Branch, cousin of the bride, and Ellen Robinson of Cape Girardeau.

The rehearsal dinner was held Sept. 17 at the church, hosted by Kenny and Jane Maevers and Ruth Maevers.

Mrs. Young is a shift leader at Hardees on Broadway in Cape Girardeau.

The groom is employed with Show Me Construction in Millersville.

The couple is residing in Thebes, Ill.
