MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Lisa Ann Peters and Michael Lee Statler were united in marriage May 3, 2003, at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold, Mo. The Rev. Bill Huggins performed the ceremony. Music was provided by Mary Jansen of Leopold. Vocalists were Bob and Jean Clubb, Dustin Jansen, Tara Broshuis, Heidi DeBrock, Jill Landewee, all of Leopold, and Jennifer VanGennip of Marble Hill.
John H. and Charlotte Peters of Marble Hill are parents of the bride. The groom is the son of Rick and Barbara Statler of Sedgewickville, Mo.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father.
Maid of honor was Jennifer Garland of Marble Hill. Bridesmaids were Amy Kasten of Jackson, cousin of the bride; Amy Statler of Patton, Mo., sister of the groom; Holly VanGennip of Marble Hill; Beth Nenninger of Leopold; and Kristi Hays of Sedgewickville, cousin of the groom.
Eric Jones of Sedgewickville was best man. Groomsmen were Richard and Matthew Statler of Patton, brothers of the groom; Johnny Peters of Marble Hill, brother of the bride; Joseph Accord of Patton; and Milton Hays of Sedgewickville, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Joe Jones, cousin of the groom, and Tony Douglas, both of Patton.
Candlelighters were Amanda Cundiff of St. Louis and Amber Halavats of Waynesville, Mo., nieces of the bride.
Flower girl was Drue Welker, daughter of Michael Welker of St. Louis and cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Alex Accord, son of Joseph and Carrie Accord.
Miniature bride and groom were Kelsey and Caleb Kasten, children of Matt and Amy Kasten of Jackson and cousins of the bride.
Sara Venneman and Kelly Boeing of Patton handed out programs. Toni Eftink of Marble Hill, cousin of the bride, attended the guest book.
Mass servers were Alex Eftink of Marble Hill and Clayton Jansen of Leopold, cousins of the bride. Lector was Susie Deck of Leopold. Giftbearers were Mary Jane Peters, aunt and godmother of the bride, and Todd Peters, cousin of the bride, both of Marble Hill. Eucharistic minister was Ruth Britton of Dexter, Mo., aunt of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Leopold. Servers were Hanna Jansen of Leopold, Susie Deck, Tara Broshuis, Heidi DeBrock, Jennifer VanGennip; Rose Ann Beel and Mary Schaefer of Marble Hill, aunts of the bride; Mary Scholl of Jackson and Diane Statler of Patton, aunts of the groom.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 2 at Woodland Steakhouse in Marble Hill.
Mrs. Statler is a 1999 graduate of Leopold High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at Montgomery First National Bank in Cape Girardeau.
The groom is a graduate of Meadow Heights High School in Patton. He is employed at Eastern Missouri Industries in Jackson.
A wedding trip is planned to West Virginia in August.
The couple resides in Marble Hill.
