LEOPOLD, Mo. -- Sara Elizabeth Nenninger and James Douglas Ritter were married April 6, 2002, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Glennon, Mo. The Rev. Frederick Lutz performed the ceremony. Organist was Mary Jansen of Leopold and soloist was Jill Landewee of Kennett, Mo.
Reader was Norma Nenninger of Leopold, aunt of the bride. Altar servers were Brandon Bueter and Brandon Stoverink of Leopold, cousins of the bride.
Parents of the bride are Lonnie and Audrey Nenninger of Leopold. The groom is the son of Marilyn Ritter of Leopold, and the late James A. Ritter.
Tonia Nenninger of Leopold was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Beussink of Cape Girardeau; Cindy Eeftink of Leopold; Cynthia Bueter of St. Louis, and Dana Nenninger of Leopold, both cousins of the bride.
Best man was Kelly Allen of Cape Girardeau. Groomsmen were Brian Bueter of St. Louis, cousin of the bride; Chuck Groshong, John Nelson and Dwayne Kirchhoff, all of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Brian Bueter and Corey Nenninger of Leopold, cousins of the bride.
Candlelighters were Amanda Stoverink, cousin of the bride, and Sarah Gowen, both of Leopold.
Flower girl was Caitlin Petty of Leopold, niece of the bride.
Programs were handed out by Katelyn and Samantha Geary of Kennett, nieces of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
The bride's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner April 5.
Mrs. Ritter is a graduate of Leopold High School, and is majoring in criminal justice at Southeast Missouri State University. She is an administrative secretary at Cape Girardeau Police Department, and a unit secretary at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
The groom is a graduate of University High School, and a 2001 graduate of Southeast University's Law Enforcement Academy. He is a towboat captain with Cape Fleeting Inc., an EMT with Cape County Private Ambulance Service, an emergency room technician at Southeast Missouri Hospital, a school bus driver with First Student, a fire fighter with East County Fire District, and a reserve officer with Cape Girardeau Police Department.
After a wedding trip to Pensacola Beach, Fla., and New Orleans, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
