Ashley Kathryn Nelson and Justin Jerome Weinkein were married Oct. 23, 2004, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, Mo. The Rev. Kevin Fausz performed the ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Steve and Terry Nelson of Cape Girardeau, and Jerry and Wilma Weinkein of Perryville.
Maid of honor was Becky Kirn of Perryville. Bridesmaids were Bethany Hicks of Springfield, Mo.; Kristal Fish and Amanda Hutteger of Cape Girardeau; Miranda Weinkein, sister of the groom, and Mindy Cattoor, both of Perryville.
Chad Flentge of St. Louis was best man. Groomsmen were John Hayden and Jonathan Paulus of Springfield; Mark Gotto of Perryville; Scott Henneke of St. Louis, uncle of the groom; and Craig Schumer of Perryville. Ushers were Jake Wilson of Cape Girardeau and David Prost of Perryville.
Candlelighters were Christina Veneviano of Cape Girardeau and Riley Taylor of Dexter, Mo., aunt of the bride.
Flower girls were Emma, Olivia and Claire Nelson, cousins of the bride. Ringbearer was Trent Unterreiner, cousin and godson of the groom. Emma and Olivia are daughters of Kent and Brenda Nelson of Perryville. Claire is the daughter of Doug and Susi Nelson of Imperial, Mo. Trent is the son of Buck and Diane Unterreiner of Perryville.
Alyssa Holyfield of South Carolina and Jennifer Behrle of Perryville attended the guest book.
A dinner and dance reception was held at the American Legion Hall in Perryville. Servers were Sandy Scroggins and Cheryl Reinagel.
The parents of the bride and groom hosted the rehearsal dinner Oct. 22 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Perryville.
Mrs. Weinkein is pursuing a degree in child development at Southeast Missouri State University. She is a student assistant at Southeast.
The groom is pursuing a degree in general studies at Southeast. He is employed at D&K Healthcare Resources.
The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
