Cheryl A. Mothes and Richard L. "Rick" Hetzel were united in marriage Sept. 29, 2001, at Grace United Methodist Church. The Revs. Anselm Keith Williams and Larry Gallamore performed the double ring ceremony. Organist and pianist was Laura Bollinger of Cape Girardeau. Vocalists were Mike Dumey of Cape Girardeau and Julie Walker of Jackson, Mo.
The bride is the daughter of John and Nan Mothes of Ava, Mo. The groom is the son of Claire Howery Scott of Bella Vista, Ark., and the late Gordon Hetzel.
The bride's attendant was her brother, Bryan Mothes of Hutchinson, Kan. The groom's attendant was Buddy Davis of Cape Girardeau.
Candlelighters were Ashley and Lacey White of Cape Girardeau.
Guest book attendants were Kristina and Joe Lopez of Cape Girardeau, daughter and son-in-law of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
The rehearsal dinner was held Sept. 28 at the church.
The bride received a master's degree in business administration from Washington University, and a master's degree in nursing administration from Wichita State University. She is an investment representative with Edward Jones.
The groom received a master's degree in administration of criminal justice from Webster University. He is owner of House Doctors Inc. of the Cape Girardeau area.
After a wedding trip to the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
