Michie-Higson

GORDONVILLE, Mo. -- Zion United Methodist Church was the setting Jan. 5, 2002, for the wedding of Sara Lyn Michie and Raymond John Higson. The Rev. Ann Mowery performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Michie of Hayti, Mo. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Higson of Hervy Bay, Australia.

Melissa Michie of Gordonville, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor.

Best man was Gary Michie of Gordonville.

Flower girl was Kesler Michie, daughter of Gary and Melissa Michie. Ringbearer was Skyler Carnell, son of Steve and Teri Carnell of Hayti and nephew of the bride. Tyler Michie, son of Gary and Melissa Michie and nephew of the bride, rang church bells.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Holiday Inn in Cape Girardeau. Servers were Ashley Boatwright and Sonya Carnell of Hayti, nieces of the bride.

Mrs. Higson received a master of arts degree in human environmental studies from Southeast Missouri State University.

The groom is a health and safety inspector with Big W in Qawana Waters, Australia.

The couple is residing in Australia.
