McMorries-Smee

Lauren McMorries and Shawn Franklin Smee were married June 4, 2005, at Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Ark. Jerry Muckensturm performed the ceremony. Pianist was Becky McKee, organist was Ellen Philpot, and soloist was Megan Osborn, all of Jonesboro.

Parents of the couple are Stan and Lois Smee of Jackson, and Gene and Barbara McMorries of Jonesobro.

Maid of honor was Kathryn McMorries, sister of the bride, and matron of honor was Amy Harding, both of Jonesboro. Bridesmaids were Jenny and Julie Knapp of Detroit, Mich., Amanda Crider of Denver, Colo., Hannah Hollingsworth and Haley Wimpy of Jonesboro, Bethany Barber of Nashville, Tenn., Megan Osborn and Lindsey Tubbs of Jonesboro.

Jason Karstens of St. Louis was best man. Groomsmen were Philip McMorries of Jonesboro, brother of the bride; Ray Perez of Cape Girardeau, Todd Earwood and Todd Johnson of Louisville, Ky., Sam Wright of St. Louis, Chicka "Craig" Elloy of San Diego, Calif., Steven Crouch of Louisville, Mark Trout of Sunnyvale, Calif., Chris Lawrence of Louisville. Ushers were Stephen McMorries of Jonesboro, brother of the bride; Steven Spack, Andy Dunlap and Jake Hampton, all of Jonesboro, Patrick Zimmerman and Nick Garvin of Murray, Ky.

Flower girls were Anne Marie Steed and Winnie Smee. Ringbearers were Philip Steed and Hayden Smee. Anne Marie and Philip are children of Philip and JoAnne Steed. Winnie and Hayden are children of Tony and Tamara Smee.

Wendy Holloway and Kelli Halcom of Jonesboro attended the guest book.

The reception was held at the Colonnade. Servers were Jacqueline Davis, Sara Bailey, Martha Spack and Neely Branch, all of Jonesboro.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner June 3 at Sheffield's Restaurant.

Mrs. Smee received a bachelor's degree in health promotion and a master's degree in college student personnel services from Arkansas State University. She is program coordinator at Arkansas State University.

The groom received a bachelor's degree in advertising and a master's degree in organizational communications from Murray State University. He is associate dean of students at Arkansas State University.

After a wedding trip to Honolulu and Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in Jonesboro.
