Brittney Denise McDowell and Joshua Cloit Lee were married May 3, 2003, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Msgr. Edward Eftink performed the ceremony. Accompanist was Geri Beussink of Jackson, saxophonist was Eric McGowen of Cape Girardeau, and vocalist was Jane Oehl of Jackson. Scriptures were read by Susan Hinkebein of Jackson, aunt of the bride, and Jason Kesterson of Cape Girardeau.
Parents of the couple are Tom and Denise McDowell of Jackson, and Tom and Gay Lee of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Chelsea McDowell, sister of the bride, and matron of honor was Michelle Hohler, cousin of the bride, both of Jackson. Bridesmaids were Amber Johnson of Jackson; Joanna Lee of Cape Girardeau, sister of the groom; Andrea Janecek of Piedmont, Mo.; and Blair Hinkebein of Jackson, cousin of the bride.
Jeremiah Lee of Cape Girardeau served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Eric McGowen; Zac Kesterson of Cape Girardeau; Joseph Hoover of Patton, Mo., cousin of the groom; Seth and Zachary McDowell of Jackson, brothers of the bride. Ushers were Jonathan Hoover, cousin of the groom, and Mike Ford, both of Cape Girardeau.
Ringbearer was Wyatt Berry, son of Brent and Rachel Berry of Bolivar, Tenn.
Laura Beck of Jackson attended the guest book. Program attendants were Lauren Haynes of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., cousin of the bride, and Shaelyne McQuay of Jackson, cousin of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a dinner and dance at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Servers were Linda Haynes of Ste. Genevieve and Karen Sander of Jackson, aunts of the bride; Marsha McGowen of Cape Girardeau; and Joy McQuay of Jackson, aunt of the groom.
The rehearsal dinner was held May 2 at Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Lee is a 1999 graduate of Jackson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University in December 2002. She is a new accounts specialist at First Missouri State Bank.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Southeast University in 2001. He is a cardiovascular technician at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
After a cruise to Puerto Rico and the Bahamas, the couple is residing in Jackson.
