Emily Jo Matthews and Todd Richard Obergoenner were married July 21, 2012, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul Short performed the ceremony. Pianist was Cheryl Fortner and vocalist was Robyn Hosp, both of Jackson.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Susan Matthews of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Don Obergoenner of Effingham, Ill., and Mary Obergoenner of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Jenna Matthews of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jordan Elliott of Winslow, Ind., cousin of the bride; Catherine Dolan of St. Louis, Ramie Masters of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Brittany Layton of Springfield, Mo.
Blake Driskell of Cape Girardeau was best man. Groomsmen were Clay Obergoenner of Jackson, brother of the groom; Kent Phillips of Cape Girardeau, Todd Barnett of Longwood, Fla., and Matt Ellis of Nashville, Tenn. Ushers were Benjamin Matthews of Cape Girardeau, brother of the bride; John Danielson of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Leighton Peavler of St. Augustine, Fla.
Candlelighter was Reagan Talley, daughter of Kent and Becky Talley of Fayetteville, Ga., and cousin of the bride.
Flower girl was Sophia Little and ringbearer was Nicholas Westrich. Sophia is the daughter of Brian and Marla Little of St. Joseph, Mo., and cousin of the groom. Nicholas is the son of Michael and Dana Westrich of Jackson and cousin of the bride.
The reception was held at Bavarian Halle.
The groom's mother hosted the rehearsal dinner July 20 at Drury Lodge.
Mrs. Obergoenner received a bachelor of science degree in communication disorders at Missouri State University, and is pursuing a master's degree in speech-language pathology at Southeast Missouri State University.
The groom received a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He is pro shop manager at Bent Creek Golf Course in Jackson.
After a wedding trip to Clearwater Beach, Fla., the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
