Emily Louise Lewis and Eric Joseph Vogelweid were married July 21, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. The Rev. Bruce Ritter performed the ceremony. Organist was Matt Palisch, trumpeter was Scott Vangilder, and vocalists were Christy Shinn and Ron Hitt, all of Jackson.
Parents of the couple are Howard and Ellen Lewis of Jackson, and Gary and Cathy Vogelweid of Auxvasse, Mo.
Maid of honor was Tyne Swain of Cape Girardeau. Matron of honor was Gaye Lynn Henry of South Riding, Va., godmother of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kristin Piombino of Wheaton, Ill., and Lauren Law of Nashville, Tenn.
Jason Johnston of Ashland, Mo., was best man. Groomsmen were Brent Lewis of Columbia, Mo., brother of the bride; Michael Pennington of Fishers, Ind., and Brian Marxkors of St. Louis, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Brendan and Collin Henry of South Riding, cousins of the bride, and Jake Teitgen of Fishers.
Program and guest book attendant was Liz Braun of Chicago.
A dinner and dance reception was held at The Venue in Cape Girardeau.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Gordonville Grill in Gordonville.
Mrs. Vogelweid is a 2006 graduate of Jackson High School. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri in 2009 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She received a master of education in learning, teaching and curriculum in 2010. She is a first grade teacher with Columbia School District.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri with a bachelor of science and master of accountancy in 2009. He is a certified public accountant at Boone County Hospital in Columbia.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is residing in Columbia.
