Caroline Leimer and Robert Thornburgh were married Oct. 20, 2007, at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. The Rev. Denny Lumos performed the ceremony. Soloist was Paige Englehart, cousin of the bride, and guitarist was Chase McDaniel, both of Jackson.
The bride is the daughter of Linda and Jerry Mowery of Dutchtown, and David and Frances Leimer of Jackson. The groom is the son of Richard and Deborah Thornburgh of Chaffee, Mo.
Maid of honor was Paige Englehart. Bridesmaids were Kenda Leimer of Jackson, sister-in-law of the bride; Jennifer Galla of St. Charles, Mo., cousin of the groom; and Marica Eggers of Jackson, cousin of the bride.
Chase McDaniel was best man. Groomsmen were Christopher Leimer of Jackson, brother of the bride; Nick Galla of St. Charles, cousin of the groom; Richard Eggers of Jackson, cousin of the bride. Ushers were Gabriel Eggers of Jackson, cousin of the bride, and D.J. Haynes of Puxico, Mo., cousin of the groom.
Candlelighters were Ashley Skinner and Victoria Schweer of Jackson, cousins of the bride.
Flower girl was Morgan McGregor, daughter of Todd and Sara McGregor of Marble Hill. Ringbearer was Dawson Mayo, son of Charlie and Angie Mayo of Advance, Mo.
A dinner and dance reception was held at the VFW Hall in Cape Girardeau. Servers were Patricia Rubel, Diane Schweer, Martha Skinner, all of Jackson, Peggy Szwabo-Forbis of St. Louis, all cousins of the bride; and Becky Hutchings of Manchester, Mo., aunt of the groom.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Oct. 19 in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Thornburgh is a 1998 graduate of Jackson High School. She received bachelor degrees in secondary mathematics education, middle school mathematics education, and elementary education from Southeast Missouri State University in 2003. She received a master's degree in education from the university in 2008. She is a mathematics teacher at Sikeston High School in Sikeston, Mo.
The groom is a 1998 graduate of Zalma High School at Zalma, Mo. He is pursuing a bachelor's degree in social work at Southeast. He is employed at Cottonwood Residential Treatment Facility.
After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in Jackson.
