Amanda Jean Kessler and Andrew William Burgess were married Sept. 20, 2008, at Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Scott Moon performed the ceremony. Soloist was Carla Williams of Springfield, Mo.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Duke Kessler of Evansville, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Brad Burgess of Gordonville.

Maid of honor was Kate Albers and matron of honor was Karie Stroder, both of Cape Girardeau. Bridesmaid was Chasity Perr of St. Louis.

Michael Burgess of Gordonville, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Sean Winstead and Aaron Ross of Jackson. Ushers were Jon Kessler of Evansville, brother of the bride, and Tim Stroder of Jackson.

Candlelighters were Brittany Boston of Sparta, Ill., and Akina Ohashi of Cape Girardeau.

Kelly Ross attended the guest book.

The reception was held at Drury Lodge.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 19 at Gordonville Grill.

Mrs. Burgess received a bachelor of science in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in 2006. She is a registered nurse in the nursery/NICU at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

The groom received a bachelor's degree in general studies from Southeast. He is employed by Coca-Cola.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple is residing in Jackson.
