Mara Chantel Kennon and Joseph Robert Uhls were married Dec. 22, 2012, at Maple United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ron Watts performed the ceremony. Music was by Lauren Uhls, sister of the groom.
The bride is the daughter of Mona Rae and Justin Kennon of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Ann Behrend-Uhls and Michael Uhls of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Alicia Kennon, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Alyssa Schaffrin, Megan Raines, Danielle Ingram and Paige Dossey.
Eric Ennis was best man. Groomsmen were Mike Sneed, Jimmy Bradburn and Adam Swiatek.
Miniature bride and groom were Ashton and Eli Williams, children of Elliott and Carrie Williams.
The reception was held at Cape Girardeau Country Club.
The rehearsal dinner was Dec. 21 at Port Cape.
Mrs. Uhls is a 2008 graduate of Central High School, and a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She is a first grade teacher with Cape Girardeau Public Schools.
The groom is a 2008 graduate of Central High School. He attended St. Louis University and is a graduate of Southeast University. He is director of football operations at Southeast.
After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
