Brooke Ashley Johnson and Joseph Eli Wormington were married May 21, 2011, at Lynwood Baptist Church. Brian Crisman performed the ceremony. Soloist was Ashley Reed of Cape Girardeau.

The bride is the daughter of Keith Johnson of Swartz Creek, Mich., and Rhonda Clark of Jackson. The groom is the son of Marvin and Cheryl Wormington of Jackson.

Matron of honor was Ashley Pettis of Cape Girardeau. Bridesmaids were Katelyn Ligons and Amanda Rommel of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; Amanda Wormington of Kansas City, Mo., sister of the groom; and Melina Bauman of Springfield, Mo., cousin of the bride.

Matt Wormington of Jackson, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Samuel Schumaker of Scott City, Timothy Pettis of Cape Girardeau, and Brent Johnson of Greenville, Texas, brother of the bride. Ushers were Timothy Pettis and Brent Johnson.

Flower girl was Haidyn Wormington, daughter of the bride and groom. Ringbearer was Matthew Wormington, son of Matt and Christie Wormington and nephew of the groom.

The reception was held at the Plaza by Ray's.

The rehearsal dinner was May 20 at Cafe Soupe.

Mrs. Wormington received a bachelor's degree in elementary and early childhood education. She is a teacher's assistant with Cape Girardeau School District.

The groom is an engineer with Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway.

The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
