Alice Diane James and Kevin Michael Hope were married Aug. 16, 2003, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Scott Sunnenberg performed the ceremony. Organist was Leanne Hendrix, pianist was Katelynn James, violinist was Casey Cook, and guitarist and soloist was David James.

Parents of the couple are Donald and Julie James of Cape Girardeau, Karen Nabe and Jim and Paula Hope, all of Jackson.

Maid of honor was Nichole Thiele of Cape Girardeau. Bridesmaids were Betty Luhr of Waterloo, Ill., Mary Gray of Whitewater, Donna Essner of Kelso, Mo., Sarah DeLuca and Katie Limbaugh of St. Louis, Cassandra Hope of Jackson, and Hollie Bearden of Jacksonville, Fla.

Dr. Kory Thoma of Cape Girardeau was best man. Groomsmen were Rob Daugherty of Chicago, Marc Franke of Memphis, Tenn., Kyle Thoma of Patterson, Mo., Travis Stevens of Jackson, Byron Pletcher and Tom James of Cape Girardeau, and Craig Hope of Jackson. Ushers were Eric and Derick Long of Cape Girardeau.

Flower girl was Jessica Gray of Whitewater. Ringbearer was Reid James of Cape Girardeau.

Guest book attendants were Micayla Gray of Whitewater and Ross James of Cape Girardeau. Memory plants were presented by Wayne and Amanda Essner of Kelso.

Servers were Kelly James of Jackson and Ethan Essner of Kelso.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 15 at Drury Lodge.

Mrs. Hope is a graduate of Central High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture business from Southeast Missouri State University. She is a financial consultant with US Bancorp. Investments in Cape Girardeau.

The groom is a graduate of Jackson High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture business from Southeast University. He is a line technician at Procter & Gamble.

After a wedding trip to the Mayan Riviera, Mexico, the couple is residing in Oak Ridge.
