Illers-Spooler

Julie Christine Illers and Douglas Ben Spooler were united in marriage June 8, 2002, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Douglas Breite performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Marty Roth, trombonist was Rick Wieser, and soloists were Michelle Spooler, stepmother of the groom, and Tara Thomas.

Parents of the bride are David and Gloria Illers of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Michael and Vickie Webb and Kenny and Michelle Spooler, all of Jackson, Mo.

Jodi Shelby of Cape Girardeau was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica Spooler of Jackson, sister of the groom; Roxanne Tanner of Bernie, Mo.; Kaci Pate of St. Louis; Krista Haukap of Avis, Ill.; Missy Blanton and Bailey Reutzel of Cape Girardeau.

Best man was Brent Pfeiffer of Jackson. Groomsmen were Kelly Illers of Cape Girardeau, brother of the bride; Mike Gross of Jackson; Mike Hillerman of Kansas City, Mo.; Nathan Tuschoff of Jackson; Jason Skinner of Hannibal, Mo.; and Tyler Gill of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Kyle Glass and Travis Turner of Jackson, and Jared Keller of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the bride.

Candlelighters were Bailey Reutzel and Tyler Gill.

Flower girls were Elizabeth Spooler and Raegan Wieser. Elizabeth is the daughter of Kenny and Michelle Spooler and sister of the groom. Raegan is the daughter of Rick and Judy Wieser of Cape Girardeau and cousin of the bride. Ringbearers were Lee Smith, cousin of the groom, and Luke LeGrand, cousin of the bride. Lee is the son of Mike and Susie Smith of Jackson. Luke is the son of Randy and Nancy LeGrand of Cape Girardeau.

Guest book attendants were Sara Rodriguez, Stacy Macke, Debbie Wachter, Amber Keller and Carlen Mulholland.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Servers were Christy Cott, Karen Shelby, Sherri Pourney and Susie Smith.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner June 7 at the KC Hall, with 75 guests attending.

Mrs. Spooler received a bachelor of science degree in communication sciences disorders from Southeast Missouri State University in 2001. She expects to receive a master's degree in communication sciences disorders from St. Louis University in May 2003.

The groom received a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 2002. He is a manufacturing supervisor at General Motors In St. Louis.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple is residing in Maplewood, Mo.
