Julie Christine Hoffman and Christopher Patrick Casey exchanged vows July 13, 2002, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Pat Keeley performed the double ring ceremony. Organist was Valerie Schaefer and vocalist was Alan Bruns, both of Cape Girardeau.
Readers were John Santucci of Chicago, Brian Shanahan of Naperville, Ill., and Robert Geringer of Perryville, Mo., uncle of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hoffman of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Charlene Pieschel of Schaumburg, Ill.
Maid of honor was Lisa Hoffman of Boulder, Colo., sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kim Adams of Jackson, Mo., Emily Clippard of St. Louis, Shea Augustine and Leah Kennard of Denver, Colo., and Laura Hoffman of Springfield, Mo., sister of the bride.
William Dunk of Clarkston, Wash., served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Richard Haws and Daniel Grimm of Cape Girardeau, Michael Hartsook, Rusty Leisure and Shawn Long, all of St. Louis. Ushers were Chris Hoffman of Springfield, brother of the bride, and Clinton Augustine of Denver, brother-in-law of the groom.
Flower girl was Connor Beck, daughter of Shea Augustine and niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Logan Buchheit, son of Jon and Marsha Buchheit of Jackson and cousin of the bride.
Tammy Adams attended the guest book.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Deerfield. Servers were Marsha Buchheit and Ginny Hunt, aunts of the bride.
The groom's mother hosted the rehearsal dinner July 12 at In the Wine Cellar.
Mrs. Casey is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in social work from Southeast Missouri State University, and expects to receive a master's degree in public administration in December 2002. She is a private tutor in Tochigi City, Japan.
The groom is a graduate of Naperville North High School. He received a degree in secondary education from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He is working with the JET program of Japan as an assistant language teacher in Tochigi City.
The couple is residing in Tochigi City.
