Hodge-Underwood

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- St. Ambrose Catholic Church was the setting May 3, 2003, for the wedding of Julie Rae Hodge and Matthew Lee Underwood. The Rev. Ralph Duffner performed the ceremony. Scriptures were read by Harold Cobb, uncle of the bride, and Heather Gresham, both of Scott City. Organist was Betty Vandeven of Chaffee. Soloists were Teri Moss of Fredericktown, Mo., aunt of the groom, and Alan Bruns of Cape Girardeau.

The bride is the daughter of Richard and Carol Hodge of Chaffee. The groom is the son of Russell Underwood and Tami Underwood of Scott City.

Maid of honor was Jill Hodge of Chaffee, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jodi Hodge of Chaffee, sister of the bride; Kayleen Weatherspoon of Scott City; Lachelle Essner of Austin, Texas; Laura Hoffman of Springfield, Mo.; and Bekky Underwood of Gulf Port, Miss., sister-in-law of the groom.

Bobby Underwood of Gulf Port was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Darrin Underwood of Scott City, brother of the groom; Ryan Weatherspoon, Jeremy Mouser, Brandon Hillemann, all of Scott City, and Jason Morgan of Chaffee. Ushers were Jason Bickings; David Enderle; Jeremy and Ryan Glastetter, cousins of the bride, all of Scott City.

Candlelighters were Lori Arnzen of Manchester, Mo., cousin of the bride, and Casey Hillemann of Scott City.

Flower girl was Macy Hillemann and ringbearer was Caden Hillemann, children of Brandon and Casey Hillemann.

Programs were handed out by Michaela Cobb, Haley and Kaitlin Glastetter, all of Scott City and cousins of the bride.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City. Servers were Mary Cobb and Ruth Glastetter, aunts of the bride; Amber Bahr, Makenzie Cartwright, Heather Gresham, all of Scott City, and Kelly Conway of Cape Girardeau, cousin of the groom.

The rehearsal dinner was held May 2 at St. Ambrose Parish Center.

Mrs. Underwood is a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University in December 2002. She is employed at CharterWest Mortgage in Jackson and at Ponderosa Steak House in Cape Girardeau.

The groom is a graduate of Scott City High School. He is employed at Dutch Enterprises Inc. in Jackson.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple is residing in Scott City.
