Rachel Hengst and Tyler Pennington were married Oct. 4, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Douglas Breite performed the ceremony. Pianist was Dottie Meyr of Cape Girardeau. Beth Stevens and Madlyn Rasche presented a flute and piano duet.

Parents of the bride are Rob and Connie Hengst of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Kimberly Pennington of Belleville, Illinois, and Frank Pennington of Alton, Illinois.

Matron of honor was Ashley Tanksley of Sikeston, Missouri, cousin of the bride. Maid of honor was Emily Younghouse of Jacksonville, Florida. Bridesmaids were Brittany Lang of Phoenix, Arizona, and Jamie Howze of Edwardsville, Illinois.

Michael Moore of Glen Carbon, Illinois, was best man. Groomsmen were Michael Heth of O'Fallon, Illinois, Josh Markland of Maryville, Illinois, and Zach Howze of Collinsville, Illinois. Ushers were Zach Stovall of Cape Girardeau and Dustin Hengst of Benton, Missouri, cousins of the bride.

Flower girl was Abigail Tanksley, daughter of B.J. and Ashley Tanksley and cousin of the bride.

Kari Pepple of Chaffee, Missouri, cousin of the bride, attended the guest book.

The bride's parents hosted the dinner and dance reception at Cape Girardeau Country Club.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Oct. 3 at Bella Italia in Cape Girardeau.

Rachel is a graduate of Central High School. She attended Southeast Missouri State University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She is employed at AVCC in St. Louis.

Tyler is a graduate of Collinsville High School. He attended Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and received a degree in associated technology in electrical automation and control systems from Ranken College in St. Louis. He is employed by Anheuser Busch in St. Louis, and is procurement analyst at Fast Technology Group in Glen Carbon.

After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple is residing in Wood River, Illinois.
