Centenary United Methodist Church was the setting Oct. 19, 2002, for the wedding of Laura Kay Hency and Jeremiah A. Watson. Dr. Clayton Smith performed the ceremony. Music was by Twylla James of Cape Girardeau.
Parents of the couple are Richard and Sheila Hency, and Greg and Denise Watson, all of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Sarah Moore of Pocahontas. Bridesmaids were Sara Beattie and Jessica Watson of Cape Girardeau, cousins of the groom, and Amanda Hahs of Oak Ridge.
Kyle Maevers of Cape Girardeau was best man. Groomsmen were Rick Hency, brother of the bride; Dakota Watson brother of the groom; and Aaron Fornkohl, all of Cape Girardeau. Ushers were Robert Lewis and Jarett Stafford of Cape Girardeau.
Candlelighters were Nicholas Burger of Sikeston, Mo., and Lachelle Carroll of Scott City, cousins of the bride.
Flower girl was Carli Knott, and ringbearers were Seth Knott and Nigel Watson. Carli and Seth are children of Carl and Dee Knott of Jackson. Nigel is the son of Jessica Watson of Cape Girardeau and cousin of the groom.
Programs and bubbles were handed out by Sarene Allen and Alicia Stull of Cape Girardeau. Sarene is the daughter of Kelly and Pamela Allen. Alicia is the daughter of Becky Stull.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at Deerfield. Servers were Pamela Allen and Becky Stull.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Oct. 18 at Cedar Street.
Mrs. Watson is a 2000 graduate of Jackson High School. She is employed in the office of Dr. Gary Olson.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Jackson High school. He is employed at Drury Southwest.
The couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
