Ashlee Hale-Cantrell and Dr. Joseph Bernard Byrne were married May 30, 2009, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. David Hulshof performed the ceremony. Pianist was Lenny Kuper, and vocalist was Cynthia Bradshaw, both of Cape Girardeau.
The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Bobbie Hale of Foley, Ala., formerly of Cairo, Ill. The groom is the son of Dr. Joseph and Janice Byrne of Brentwood, Calif.
Matron of honor was the Honorable Maureen Tilley of Perryville, Mo., sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Alison Moorman of Cape Girardeau; Tonya Wells of Jackson; Heidi Mayer of Christopher, Ill., cousin of the bride; Sarah Bandermann of Cape Girardeau; Lara Thompson of Scott City; and Jordon Radetic of Cape Girardeau.
Dr. David Byrne of Los Angeles, Calif., was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Jason Tilley of Perryville, brother-in-law of the groom; Tony Elder of Mounds, Ill., brother of the bride; Dr. Abe Lin and Dr. Jamieson Glenn of Los Angeles; and Dr. Steven Tilley of Perryville.
Candlelighters were Trey and Thomas Moss, sons of Allen and Katie Moss of Jackson and cousins of the bride.
Flower girl was Demi Cantrell, daughter of the bride. Ringbearer was Scout Hudgens, son of Trent and Hayley Hudgens of Christopher and cousin of the bride.
The reception was held at Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Byrne received a bachelor of science degree in education and a master of arts in English from Southeast Missouri State University. She is an English teacher at Central High School.
The groom received a bachelor of science degree in biology from Santa Clara University and a doctorate in medicine from Tulane University. He is an orthopedic surgeon at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
After a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple is residing in Jackson.
