Kristen Elaine Grabel and Matthew Todd Jeans exchanged vows May 20, 2006, in an outdoor setting at the Grabel home. The Rev. James Erdman performed the ceremony. Pianists were Diane Wicker of Cape Girardeau and Mary Lopez of DeSoto, Mo.; soloist was Rachel Bruemmer of Jefferson City, Mo.; and a duet was performed by Dr. Chris Goeke and Lori Shaffer of Cape Girardeau.
The bride is the daughter of Fred and Kathy Grabel of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of James and Elizabeth Jeans of St. Albans, Mo.
Maid of honor was Kelly Jones of O'Fallon, Mo., and matron of honor was Monica McLain of Cape Girardeau. Bridesmaids were Alyssa Grabel of Trivoli, Ill., cousin of the bride; Sarah Bandermann and Kristine Grabel, sister-in-law of the bride, both of Cape Girardeau; and Emily Jeans of Columbus, Ohio, sister-in-law of the groom.
James Jeans Jr. of Columbus, brother of the groom, and Scott Mahlin of Columbia, Mo., were best men. Groomsmen were Joe Harris of House Springs, Mo.; Eric and Wesley Grabel of Cape Girardeau, brothers of the bride; and Aaron Gould of Maryland Heights, Mo. Ushers were David Jett, cousin of the groom, Robert Jones, both of Fenton, Mo.; and Michael McCowan of St. Louis.
Candlelighter was Jennifer Kesterson of Troy, Ill.
Flower girls were Sarah and Catherine Malpas, and ringbearer was Thomas Malpas. They are triplets of Jim and Karen Malpas of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and cousins of the bride.
Faye Grabel, cousin of the bride, attended the guest book.
The reception was held at Deerfield Lodge.
The rehearsal dinner was held at KFVS Tower.
Mrs. Jeans is an athletic trainer with Sports Enhancement Group in Chesterfield, Mo., and also with Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis.
The groom is a paraprofessional with Ft. Zumwalt North High School, and hockey coach for St. Peter's Bantam major central states developmental league.
After a wedding trip to Aruba, the couple resides in O'Fallon.
