The bride is the daughter of Josue Garcia and Evelyn Velazquez of Aiken, S.C., and Freddy Carreras and Felisa Alvarado of Ponce, Puerto Rico. The groom is the son of Robert and Kaye Hamblin of Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. Hamblin attended Inter American University in Ponce. She is employed at Credit Bureau Services.

The groom is attending Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center. He is an EMT-B, and a combat medic with Missouri National Guard.

The couple is residing in Scott City.
