KELSO, Mo. -- Amanda Marie Essner and John Paul Hamm were married Aug. 31, 2013, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. The Rev. Oliver Clavin performed the ceremony. Organist was Geri Beussink and vocalists were Jane Oehl and Alan Bruns.
Parents of the couple are Ralph and Donna Essner of Kelso, and Larry and Paulette Hamm of New Hamburg, Missouri.
Matron of honor was Tabatha Essner of Cape Girardeau, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Julie and Cassie Essner of Kelso, cousins of the bride; Amy Horrell and Lindsay King of Festus, Missouri, Alana Becquette of Chesterfield, Missouri, and Lauren Schade of Cape Girardeau.
Nick Steimle of New Hamburg was best man. Groomsmen were Jon Heuring and Josh Glastetter of New Hamburg; Brett Burger of Scott City; Justin Simpher of Gordonville; Wayne Essner of Cape Girardeau and Ethan Essner of Springfield, Missouri, brothers of the bride. Ushers were Ben Sample of Cape Girardeau, Tim McDonald of Scott City, and Steven Carrillo of Dexter, Missouri.
Candlelighters were Renee Scroggins of Kelso, cousin of the bride, and Erin Davis of St. Louis, sister of the groom.
Flower girls were Lilly James, cousin of the bride, and Victoria Sansone, niece of the groom. Ringbearer was Dean Sansone, nephew of the groom. Lilly is the daughter of Tom and Beth James. Victoria and Dean are children of Tim and Susan Sansone.
The reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 30 at Port Cape.
Amanda is a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in 2011, and is pursuing a master's degree in nursing for family nurse practitioner from the University of Central Missouri. She is a registered nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Saint Francis Medical Center.
John is a 2001 graduate of Notre Dame. He received a bachelor of science degree in health management in 2006 and a bachelor of science degree in nursing in 2010 from Southeast. He is a registered nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Saint Francis.
After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, the couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
