Kara Marie Deterding and Dennis Ray Blevins Jr. were married July 19, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher, Ill. The Rev. Tom Stout performed the ceremony. Violinist was Veronica Steibel.
The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Paulette Deterding of Prairie du Rocher. The groom is the son of Zipporah Blevins of Ashland, Ky.
Maid of honor was Kelly Deterding, twin sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Cassie Steibel, cousin of the bride; Megan Deterding, sister of the bride; and Meghan Boerding.
Richard Tipton was best man. Groomsmen were Curtis Haywood, brother of the groom; Joshua Walter, Brad Basler, and Timothy Bonno. Usher was Tom Ervin, brother-in-law of the bride.
Flower girl was Jessa Montroy, cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Jon Haywood, nephew of the groom.
Stacie Steibel, cousin of the bride, attended the guest book.
The reception was held at St. Patrick's Parish Hall in Ruma, Ill.
The rehearsal dinner was held July 18 in Red Bud, Ill.
Mrs. Blevins is a 2008 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, majoring in ag business. She is employed at the Adorers of the Blood of Christ Convent.
The groom is a graduate of Southeast, majoring in computer science. He is a defense contractor at Scott Air Force Base.
After a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, the couple is residing in Red Bud.
