Christ Church of the Heartland was the setting April 13, 2001, for the wedding of Laura Marie Crump and Mitchell Lee Kester. The Rev. Rick E. Crump, father of the bride, performed the double ring ceremony. He was assisted by the Rev. Joe McCullough.

Music was provided by Patches King of Cape Girardeau, pianist; Steve Schaffner of Cape Girardeau, violinist; Andrea Vrbosky, Butch Owens, Tony Dorsett, Jenilee Moore and Bryan Davidson, brass quintet.

Parents of the bride are Rick and Carolyn Crump of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Linda Kester and the late James W. Kester.

Sarah Crump of Cape Girardeau was her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenny Schlosser and Angela Lewis of Cape Girardeau.

Best man was Robert Giles of Cape Girardeau. Groomsmen were Gregory Kester of Festus, Mo., brother of the groom, and John Warren of Sikeston, Mo. Ushers were Robert Adcox of Cape Girardeau and Mark King of St. Charles, Mo.

Flower girl was Lindsey Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Brown of Cape Girardeau.

Jessica Cook and Rachel Huebel attended the guest book.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the National Guard Armory. Servers were Michelle and Kelly Kuehn.

The groom's mother hosted the rehearsal dinner April 12 at the church.

The bride is a graduate of Central High School, and is pursuing a degree in music at Southeast Missouri State University. She is employed at Hastings Books Music and Video.

The groom is a graduate of Central High School, and is a member of Missouri National Guard. He is employed at KBSI-TV.

The couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
