Julia Cowsert and Ty Thrower were married Sept. 29, 2003, at Common Pleas Courthouse in Cape Girardeau. Judge Peter Statler performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Grace Duff of Tamms, Ill., and the late Lawrence Duff. The groom is the son of Rose Thrower of Jackson, and the late Charles Thrower.

Maid of honor was Jessica Thrower, daughter of the groom.

Best man was Joshua Cowsert, son of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a family dinner was held at Red Lobster. A reception was held at a later date at the couple's farm near Olive Branch, Ill.

Mrs. Thrower is a 1979 graduate of Egyptian High School in Tamms. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Southeast Missouri State University, a master's degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., and is a recent graduate of the practical nursing program at Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center. She is a chaplain at St. Francis Medical Center.

The groom is a 1978 graduate of Central High School. He is employed with Mac Con Co. in Gordonville.

The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
