April Brooke Cecil and Travis Ryan Helwege were married May 31, 2008, at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Patrick Nwokoye performed the ceremony. Lectors were Lauren Henson, sister of the bride, and Briar Helwege, sister of the groom.
The bride is the daughter of Gretchen Pembroke, Charlie Cecil, Glen and Stacy Henson, all of Caruthersville, Mo. The groom is the son of Ray and Christine Fochler of Gallatin, Tenn., and Gary and Sandy Helwege of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Erica Reno of Caruthersville. Bridesmaids were Sara Bishop, Sara Avis, Rinda Graham, cousin of the bride, all of Caruthersville; Danielle Wood and Lauren Burns of St. Louis.
Tyler Spaeth was best man. Groomsmen were Shawn Huston, Ryan Gosche, Bill Eaton, uncle of the groom; Lucas Helwege, son of the groom, all of Cape Girardeau, and the bride's father. Ushers were John Henson, Easton and Alan Cecil, all of Caruthersville and brothers of the bride.
Flower girls were Kortlan Graham, cousin of the bride, and Adeline Hubbard. Ringbearer was Ben Counce, son of Ben and Lugenia Counce of Caruthersville. Kortlan is the daughter of James and Rinda Graham. Adeline is the daughter of Wilson and Kendra Hubbard of Caruthersville.
Guest book attendants were Allison Cecil, sister of the bride, and Alyssa Counce.
The reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Cape Girardeau. Server was Lexie Ulrich.
Mrs. Helwege is a 1999 graduate of Caruthersville High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in food service and hospitality management from Southeast Missouri State University in 2004. She is employed at BG's Olde Tyme Deli.
The groom is a 1993 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. He attended Southeast. He is a marketing associate with Hardin's Sysco.
The couple is residing in Cape Girardeau.
