Juliette Rose Buchanan and Mark Stephen Rutledge were united in marriage June 11, 2005, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. The Revs. Don Zeilear and Joseph Mehan performed the ceremony.
Organist was Johnnie Cardenale of Dallas; timpanist was Joe Cardenale of Dallas; harpists were Karen Abrahamson of Plano, Texas, Kari Weatherholt of Waco, Texas; violinists were Inga Kroll of Richardson, Texas, Lise Engel of Dallas; cellist was Orit Beder of Dallas; and violist was Ann Marie Roeske of Dallas. Vocalists were Suzanne Taitte and James Williams of Dallas.
The bride is the daughter of James and Yvonne Buchanan III of Dallas. The groom is the son of Dr. Harley and Ruth Ann Rutledge of Cape Girardeau.
Maid of honor was Mary-Margaret Buchanan of Dallas, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sarah Hardin of San Antonio, Texas; Alma Keenan of Plano; Olga McNeil of Norcross, Ga.; Prachi Shah of New Orleans, La.; and Bernadette Buchanan of Round Top, Texas, niece of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Frances and Laura Buchanan of Round Top, nieces of the bride, and Gabby Appedu of Houston, Texas, goddaughter of the bride.
Ted Kelley of Dallas was best man. Groomsmen were Mike Stava of Eureka, Mo.; Jim Buchanan of Irving, Texas, Capt. Christopher Buchanan of Germany, William Buchanan of College Station, Texas, brothers of the bride; and Benjamin Buchanan of Round Top, nephew of the bride. Junior groomsmen were Matthew and Mark Wilson of Great Falls, Va., nephews of the groom, and Lance Holland of Niwot, Colo., nephew and godson of the groom. Ushers were Jim Ross of Dallas, Matt Fennell of Carrollton, Texas; Geoffrey Buchanan of Round Top and Patrick Buchanan of Georgetown, Texas, brothers of the bride.
Flower girls were Claire and Emily Buchanan of Irving, Elizabeth and Mary A. Buchanan of Round Top, Mary M. Buchanan of Georgetown, all nieces of the bride; and Clara Hampson of Herndon, Va., niece of the groom. Ringbearers were Seth Howard of Niwot, nephew of the groom, and Joe Buchanan of Round Top, nephew of the bride.
The reception was held at the Biblical Arts Center in Dallas.
The groom's mother hosted the rehearsal dinner June 10 at La Trattoria Lombardi in Dallas.
Mrs. Rutledge received a bachelor of music degree from Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, a master of music from Rice University, and is a doctoral candidate at the University of Houston. She is the principal harpist with Plano Symphony and is a harp professor at Baylor University.
The groom received a bachelor of science degree in physics from Southeast Missouri State University. He is the North American sales manager with Summit Microelectronics Inc.
After a wedding trip to Italy, including an audience with Pope Benedict XVI, the couple is residing in McKinney, Texas.
