Denise Elizabeth Aufdenberg and Anton Gordon Essner were married July 6, 2013, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Mo. The Rev. Oliver Clavin and the Rev. William Hennecke Jr. performed the ceremony. Organist was Hope Essner and soloists were Madeline Essner and Walter Seyer, all of Kelso.
Parents of the couple are Dennis and Elizabeth Aufdenberg of Burfordville, and Norman and Dorothy Essner of Kelso.
Maid of honor was Jessica Gettys of Garland, Texas, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaid was Leeanna Seiler of Kelso, sister of the groom.
Randy Essner of Kelso was his brother's best man. Groomsman was Chad Seiler of Kelso, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were James and Luke Aufdenberg of Burfordville, brothers of the bride.
Candlelighters were Cassie Essner of Kelso, cousin of the bride, and Brittany Essner of Kelso, cousin of the groom.
Flower girl was Bailey Aufdenberg, daughter of Luke and Amanda Aufdenberg and niece and goddaughter of the bride. Ringbearer was Blake Aufdenberg, son of James and Millie Aufdenberg and nephew and godson of the bride.
The reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner July 5 at their home.
Mrs. Essner is a technician with Cape Girardeau County Soil and Water Conservation District.
The groom is employed with R&A Farming and Essner's Custom Butchering.
The couple resides in Kelso.
