Hoa Au Thi Thanh and Christopher Michael Bergerson were married Dec. 12, 2006, in a traditional Vietnamese ceremony at the home of the bride in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Au Duong San of Hanoi. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Peter Bergerson of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Michigan City, Ind., and formerly of Cape Girardeau.

Maid of honor was Au Thi Nhung of Hanoi, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Au Ngoc Diep, niece of the bride, and Le Anh Thu, both of Hanoi.

Jon Paris of Chicago was best man. Groomsmen were Dan Nash of Madison, Wis., and Jeff Phillips of Washington, D.C.

The reception was held on a resort boat in Hanoi.

The rehearsal dinner was held at the home of the bride.

Mrs. Bergerson received a bachelor of arts degree from Hanoi University of Business and Management. She is pursuing a master of science degree in international business development from the ESC Group, Graduate School of Management in Clermont, France. She is completing an internship with General Electric in Vietnam.

The groom received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Kansas, and is attending the International Language Institute at Vietnam National University in Hanoi. He will be a graduate student this fall at the University of Denver's School of International Relations in Colorado.

The couple will reside in Denver.
