On May 21 and 22, a conference for childcare providers, foster parents, parents, and anyone else who works with children will be held at Dempster Hall on the university campus. The conference will be held from 12:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, then start up again Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 5:45 p.m.

There are 3-4 choices of classes in each two-hour time slot. Topics include: Relationships are Key to Success, the Hidden Challenges of Explosive Children, Understanding Autism, Sit Still, Pay Attention, Look at Me, Emergency Preparedness, Internet Safety, Helping Those Who Hurt, How to Keep it Together, Issues in Sexual Abuse, and many more.

There is no charge for attending the conference, but pre-registration is advised. You may get a registration form from anyone at the agencies listed below.

The conference is a joint effort of the University Child Development Center--Sikeston, the Missouri Children's Division, EDUCARE, Community Caring Council, EMAA Head Start, Lutheran Family and Children's Services, Missouri Mentoring Partnership, New Vision Counseling, Southeast Missouri State University, Success by Six, THRIVE, and the University of Missouri Extension.
