Outdoor skills specialist, DeeDee Dockins, with the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) teaches the hunter education instructor program to volunteers at the Southeast Regional MDC office in Cape Girardeau, Thursday. Trained volunteers join MDC staff in teaching hunter education courses to people across the state. Volunteer instructors are dedicated, concerned citizens who give their time to train new and prospective hunters. They receive training on firearms, proper firearm use, hunting traditions, ethics, the hunter and conservation, safe hunting practice and hunting responsibilities.
