Another school in the Scott City VFW and Auxiliary 6407 area is St. Augustine of Kelso, Missouri. Another patriotic essay contest sponsored by the VFW & Auxiliary 6407 of Scott City (as well as chapters all over the country) is the Patriot’s Pen. This is open to middle schools (sixth through eighth grades) with this year’s topic being “The America I Believe In.” The Scott City Middle School put on a Veteran’s Day assembly for the student body with veterans and community members as guests.
