U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Justin Barkley to receive the keys to his newly renovated home in Scott City, MO. The home is being donated mortgage-free by the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP) in partnership with Bank of America.
Barkley served in the United States Air Force for six years. He worked in fire protection as a journeyman as well as assisting in building a base and maintaining flightlines. He always had the desire to serve and will continue to do so by working with a local sheriff’s office.
During his time in service, he deployed to Qatar, Jordan, Djibouti Africa, and Dubai. His biggest blessing, his daughter. Both are excited about having a home to call their own.
Since 2012, Bank of America’s Military Affairs team has coordinated efforts across the company—including hiring, offering financial products, getting involved with philanthropy and public policy, and helping veterans reintegrate into the civilian workforce. We remain committed to attracting, developing and retain military talent in addition to helping meet their diverse needs as teammates. To recognize our service men and women, we have hired over 15,000 veterans in the last eight years. In 2022 alone, we hired more than 5,100 U.S. teammates with a military background – more than 16% of all U.S. external hires for the year. This comes as part of our five-year goal to hire 10,000 veterans, which we have now surpassed two years early. Bank of America also operates overseas military banking facilities in 10 countries, including 62 financial centers and 274 ATMs.
We want to thank Mr. Barkley for his service and, welcome home.
