Two years ago we began a journey by faith, not really knowing how we would survive, nevertheless thrive! Acting on an unction in my spirit, I founded this ministry, The Rock International Ministries (T.R.I.M.) in Jackson, MO. When God spoke to me about the geographical location of the ministry, I have to admit that I was a bit confused. God spoke to me about establishing a "brand new" ministry in Jackson, MO. You might ask, "what's wrong with that"? Nothing, from a spritual stand point because I realize that we can do ALL things through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. From a natural stand point there was plenty wrong with that suggestion. I wondered how we would be able to create and maintain a ministry that would be respected by the general population of a city that was predominantly white. The other part of the vision was that this ministry was to be a multi-cultural ministry that anyone, regardless of their race or background could worship and feel loved. If you scan Cape Girardeau County, you will see that their are several ministries with a caucasion pastor and African American followers, but it's a rarity to see the opposite. I wondered how caucasions would handle coming into a place to worship where the leader was an African American. Have we faced opposition? Of course we have, but God has shown us that this ministry is destined to thrive in a controversial atmosphere. We are still a very small ministry in numbers but I can tell you that more than half of the followers are caucasion. You may ask, why does this matter? God is trying to prove that He can do anything, despite our small minds and ways of doing things. The church is starting to grow and gain a positive reputation throughout Southeast Missouri. We have hosted great men's and women's conferences with such guests as Jason Crabb, Martha Munizzi, Javen, Dr. Yvonne Capehart, etc. If God has proven one thing to me in these first two years it would be that He is limitless! There are no limits as to what God can and will do!
