The Iron Mountain Railway in Jackson will depart the depot at 1 p.m.on Saturday, Oct. 15, for the first run of the season. The two-hour ride will feature a train robbery by the James Gang, and special activities for children, including face painting, balloon animals, an auction for kids only and pumpkin decorating.
Trains on Saturday Oct. 22 and Oct. 29, at 1 p.m., will be featuring the Spider Express, with special activities for children and lots of Halloween fun. Also, on Oct. 29, the Ghost Train Dinner Train will depart at 5:30 p.m., featuring a full course dinner and ghost story tellers. Menus includes Mario's pasta, salad, green beans, rolls, dessert and drinks. This fun and slightly spooky train will be full of surprises. Reservations are required for the dinner train and can be made by calling 243-1688 or at c21huff@yahoo.com.
Reservations are not required for regular train rides and tickets may be purchased at the station prior to the train's departure. Children who wear costumes for the Spider Express trains will receive a discount.
