Daria Marie Thompson will lead the Perryville High School Class of 2015 as it graduates this Friday. Commencement begins at 8 pm Friday, May 15 at Perry Park Center.
Thompson is the daughter of Michael and April Thompson. She has six siblings -- Daniel, Christen, D.J., Nathan, Megan, Josiah, and she is the granddaughter of Alice Burlingame.
While in high school, Daria has been a member of the PHS Lady Pirates Volleyball team, earning the 2013 and 2014 Missouri Academic All-State Award. She is a member of the soccer team, serving as its captain this year. She is vice president of National Honor Society, recording secretary of Student Council, and belongs to Future Business Leaders of America, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Friends of Education, P.B.S. Committee and New Student Ambassadors. Her community service includes volunteering at volleyball camps, Meals on Wheels and Vacation Bible School.
Daria has won eight department awards, and was named the Perryville Elks Student of the Month for April.
She has accepted the Barat Scholarship from Maryville University in St. Louis, where she will study physical therapy.
Caressa Petot is the salutatorian. She is the daughter of Allan and Lonett Petot. She has three sisters -- Chandra, Courtney and Emelia. She is the granddaughter of Mary Petot, Dale Petot, Joe Galeski and Barb Galeski.
She will attend the St. Louis College of Pharmacy after graduation.
