The Missouri Association for Career and Technical Education and the Missouri Business Education Association Summer Conference was held July 23-26, 2012 in Springfield, Missouri. The opening session included a keynote address from the National Business Teacher of the Year. Workshops on 1:1 Computing, Common Core Standards in Business and various other topics regarding the use of technology in teaching were offered to those who attended. The PhotoShop and Office 2010 workshops were offered by Cape Central High School business education teacher, Mrs. Theresa Taylor. At the closing session of the 2012 State Conference, Mrs. Taylor was elected president-elect of the Missouri Business Education Association for the 2012-13 academic year and will then serve as president for the 2013-14 academic year. Mrs. Taylor has taught business at Cape Central High School for ten years where she also serves as faculty advisor for Cape Central's chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America and as Cape Central's technology coordinator.
