To qualify for the State competition they were awarded a 1st place ribbon by giving a power point presentation of their Science Fair Project at the District competition at Southeast Missouri State University on Wednesday, March 9. At the State competition on April 16, they competed against Junior High students from all over the state of Missouri. At the State Competition they had to give a 10 min. power point presentation with 5 mins. of questioning from a panel of judges.

The students were awarded the following ribbons in their perceptive categories: Rhett Simmons -- 2nd place in Physics, Dominic Hooper -- 2nd place in Engineering, Shelby Rhymer -- 2nd place in Medicine and Health, and Joseph Beggs -- 1st place in Chemistry.
