FIRST ANNUAL SPORTMEN'S BANQUET

TO BE HELD AT FIRST BAPTIS CHURCH OF PERRYVILE, MO

The men and boys of First Baptist Church of Perryville, MO are very excited about their First Annual Sportsmen's Banquet they are preparing for Saturday, September 19, 2009, at 5:00pm. Pastor Dennis Cebulak said, "In all honesty, the men have been getting a little jealous of the women who have been hosting a Women's Conference at the church for 8 straight years now, drawing about 250 women from all denominations. So not to be out done, the men are hoping to have 300 men and boys join them on September 19, for a great catfish dinner with all the trimmings, followed by nationally known speaker Joey Hancock as he spins his humorous hunting and fishing tails." When a person registers for the event that makes him eligible for nearly $1,000 worth of giveaways including, shotguns, fishing rods and reels, and other outdoor equipment. When men and boys walk into the foyer on the 19th they will be greeted with two full size bear mounts, trophy deer mounts and other outdoor displays. There will also be displays at booths on turkey calls, taxidermy, guns, and other displays of interest to men.

For those who are into archery, there will be a 3D archery shoot beginning at 8:30am the day of the conference. All proceeds from this event go towards a mission project in El Salvador. The cost for this event is $10 and is separate from the Sportsmen's Banquet.

No doubt the highlight of the evening will come when everyone gathers to hear Joey Hancock who is a humorist, speaker and Georgia's author of the year 2006. Joey has been on stages all across America. He has been asked to speak for high schools, colleges, seminaries, civic clubs, churches and corporations. As an outdoor TV personality, professional guide and outdoor writer, Joey speaks at many wild game dinners and outdoor events. Will Davis, writing for the Monroe County Reporter says, "The south has been looking for a story teller on par with Lewis Grizzard and Jerry Clower, we finally found one: Joey Hancock."

Men and boys interested in the event can register by contacting First Baptist Church at 573-547-4644; the cost for registration is $15. The conference schedule is:
