SoutheastHEALTH welcomes Mike Nichols as its new Chief Information Officer.
Nichols brings over 20 years of technology experience, including enterprise system implementation, best practices, budgeting, strategic planning and aligning technology with organizational priorities.
"Nichols is an experienced hands-on leader who will be a great addition to the Southeast team," said Chief Financial Officer John Skeans. "His experience with project management will be a tremendous asset."
Prior to joining the SoutheastHEALTH team, Nichols served as chief information officer with Masonicare Health System, a large, multi-location healthcare organization headquartered in Connecticut. During his nine years with Masonicare, Nichols developed their strategic information system architecture, positioning the organization for a move to future technology and improving efficiency while preserving superior levels of client and patient services.
Nichols holds a master's degree in Computer Resources and Information System Management from Webster University. He is a certified professional in Health Information Technology (CPHIT) and a certified Information Systems Security professional (CISSP).
"The management team at SoutheastHEALTH is focusing on Information Technology as a strategic advantage in delivering quality healthcare," Nichols said. "I'm excited about the opportunity to utilize my background in healthcare to assist with realizing that goal."
Nichols noted that he is originally from Missouri and welcomes the opportunity to "move back home and be closer to family."
