Smith completes basic training

Samuel C. Smith recently completed

basic training at Fort Benning, Ga.,

with the 1st Battalion, 50th Infantry

Regiment, Foxtrot Company, earning

a blue infantry shoulder card and

expert marksman badge with an M4

rile. He also graduated from jump

training school and has qual i f ied

as a paratrooper and earned airborne

jump wings.He now is stationed with the

82nd Airborne Division, 1st Brigade

Combat Team at Fort Bragg in North

Carolina.

A 2014 graduate of Grandview High

School, he is the son of Tim and Karen

Smith of Fletcher and Grandson of Floyd

and Ann Smith of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
