We need to remember who our “customers” are. Scott County residents are our customers and should be treated such; with respect and professionalism. We work for them and should listen to what they need and want from County law enforcement officials. I would work toward a better working relationship with other law enforcement agencies. Cooperation leads to more effective law enforcement. Deputies and staff should know what is expected of them and held accountable.
Decrease employee turnover. This reduces expenses associated with recruiting and training new officers.
I feel it can be improved. We need to cooperate more with other agencies to start with. Having deputies physically out in the county, meeting and developing relationships with those we serve would be a major step forward. I pledge ethical, fair and consistent treatment of our residents and to be available when someone has a question or wishes to discuss my department.
One of the biggest problems anywhere is illegal drugs and abuse of prescription drugs, and Scott County is no exception. We need to have relationships with County residents that promote working together and reporting suspicious activities. Then we need to investigate and follow up when we receive a report of such activity.
My entire adult life has been devoted to law enforcement, having been a full time officer for over 26 years. Scott County is the only place IÂ’ve ever lived and I know the communities and the people. I was taught at a young age to treat people fairly and with respect and I continue to do so today. My training, experience and values make me the right candidate for the position of Sheriff.
