My daughter is in Miss. Cartwright's 3rd grade class at Scott City Elementary. I received a letter last week that instead of doing the normal routine of exchange a boys gift with a boy and girls gift with a girl, the class ASKED the teacher if they could donate their gifts to the children at St. Jude's. I was touched to say the least by this change in routine. I try very hard to teach my 3 daughters the TRUE meaning of Christmas but, sometimes the loads of presents or new toys advertised cloud their train of thought. My daughter and I went last night and bought her gift to take to school and she was very emotional during this whole process, asking questions about if the kids at St Jude's would be able to be with their families on Chrsitmas and how do they have Christmas in a hospital. The questions continued all through the night even after we had purchased the gift and got home. This has really made her feel like she is important in helping another child receive a gift and make their Christmas memorable. I just want to Thank Miss. Cartwright for letting her children do this.
