Robin Carnahan holds Lobbyist Fundraiser

After criticizing her opponent for lobbyist donations, Robin Carnahan held a big lobbyist fundraiser in Washington, DC today. Lobbyists attending include many from the insurance, financial and telecommunications industry. A large DC lawyer firm is sponsoring the fund-raiser which is no surprise as Carnahan receives more than 2 times as much campaign money from lawyers than does her opponent Roy Blunt.

In the past Carnahan has been critical of this type of event and made a pledge to "get rid of corruption" and insisted that candidates that have such events post on-line the date, time and the donors present. Yet she didn't make this event public or post anything about it -- it was discovered by another government watchdog group.

In addition to the lawyer donations, she is the top recipient in Missouri for Act-Blue (George Soros of "moveon.org" fame) and receives money from the top 3 recipients of lobbyist donations. In addition to this one of her largest donors is Emily's list which supports abortion at all stages of pregnancy. Blunt receives no money from them. Another of Carnahans largest donors is Unions that move their PAC money to liberal candidates. They can count on her vote with the large amounts of money she has received.

Much of the money coming into her campaign is from out of state as many liberals realize the importance of her election to continue the Obama tax and spend policies. As President Obama himself said, he needs her in Washington to help him get his agenda passed. Robin Carnahan has supported his agenda and will be a rubber stamp for him if elected. We don't need unemployment to go higher than it is or deficits any larger than they are!
