You could call it a labor of love, or a message of encouragement for those women behind the badge.
Kristi Neace, wife of previous Jackson officer, Cpl. Rick Neace, Union P.D., wrote and published a book for police wives in 2009.
Collecting stories from wives across the nation, she compiled each story into chapters describing every emotion a wife of an LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) experiences.
Since the publication of her book last December, she has had numerous opportunities to speak to LEO wives across the country through Facebook and other social networking sites. Amazingly, through one of these such meetings, Kristi has been invited to Ontario, Canada to speak at a Law Enforcement retreat next fall.
Both Kristi and Rick serve on a Christian Law Enforcement Team who host a summit twice a year in Ridgecrest, NC, and have just recently been asked to serve on the International COPS Ministry having chapters across the nation and in several foreign countries.
"I see this thing growing and stretching beyond anything I can comprehend. These women are tough women...they have to be, but they need a lot of encouragement. It's a stressful life."
Kristi also keeps up with a blog for police wives at www.kristineace.com.
