Perryville student of the month

The Perryville High School Elks Student of the Month for September is senior Katherine Boyer. Katherine (center) is the daughter of Kenneth Boyer and Cindy Kirkpatrick. Standing above with Katherine is Eks representative, Paul Turner (right) and Perryville High School Principal, Lee Gattis.

While in high school, Katherine has been involved in the following clubs and organizations: Band (Gr. 9, 10, 11, 12) and drum major (Gr. 12); Jazz Band (Gr. 9, 10, 11, 12); Drama Club (Gr. 9 and 12); Youth Alive (Gr. 9); Scribe Society (Gr. 12); FCCLA (Gr. 12); Friends of Education and officer (Gr. 12); and SADD (Gr. 12).

Her list of honors and awards include: Missouri Fine Arts Academy (Gr. 11); All-District Band (Gr. 9, 10, 11); Outstanding Achievement - Band (Gr. 9); Most Improved - Band (Gr. 10); Arion Award - Band (Gr. 11); "I" Ensemble Rating at State (Gr. 10, 11); "II" Ensemble Rating at State (Gr. 9, 10, 11); All-District Jazz Band - 1st Alternative (Gr. 9).
